Essential 2
Organizational and Systems Leadership
This competency assumes complex and advanced leadership roles to initiate and guide charge, provides leadership to foster collaboration with multiple stakeholders such as: patients, community, integrated health care teams, and policymakers to improve healthcare. This competency demonstrates leadership that uses critical and reflective thinking, and advocates for improved access, quality, and cost-effective health care, and communicate practice knowledge effectively both orally and in writing.
I feel I met this competency by initiating the role of educator. For this competency, I chose to display our group project for Adult and Geriatrics NURS5019. We collaborated with a pharmacist in Castlewood, Virginia, and educated the community on Polypharmacy. I also decided to add my SOAP note for Chronic pain from Adult and geriatrics NURS5019. I feel I met these requirements by listening to my patient and becoming involved in his story of why he has chronic pain. I used my clinical judgment and leadership skills to help him with his pain. Both these assignments have allowed continued growth for me as a provider and to educate the patient's in the community about Polypharmacy, by collaborating with a pharmacist.

Additional assignments I used to show how I met this competency include my discussion board from Pharmacology for week 6, and my Adult and Geriatric SOAP note on an adult age 41-60 y/o.
I chose to use these assignments because I am continually amazed at how much I have learned in this program.
My SOAP note reflects a very unique case that I saw, treated, and ultimately referred to a specialist for treatment. As I look back on these SOAP notes, I am so happy that I get the opportunity to have hands-on experience and learn with my patients every day.
My Discussion Board post from Pharmacology holds important discussions about medications that I intend to use in my practice.
