Health information management for evidence-based care and health education. Facilitates the use of electronic health records. Ethically manages data, information, knowledge, and technology to communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and caregivers.
I feel I have met this essential by simply taking Nursing Informatics. The class provided in-depth information on informatics and evidence-based practice for clinical care. The assignments I did in the class allowed me to research different kinds of technological advances along with threats of various kinds. The assignments I chose for this Essential are my Data Dive Exercise and My Workflow Process Map.

I feel I met this essential by researching the misuse of healthcare information and how it has become a major problem in today’s society. With different social media platforms emerging almost daily, I researched how healthcare and social media do not live in harmony.
I chose to show how I met this essential also by displaying my Emerging IT trends research paper. In my paper, I discussed Electronic Health Records (EHR), Telehealth, and Robotics. I also addressed both positive and negative impacts on each direction and ideas I have to either augment positives or alleviate the concerns.
