Essential 4
Translation and Integrating Scholarship into Practice
This essential examines policies and seeks evidence for every aspect of practice; Applies research within practice settings to resolve practice problems and work as a change agent; Applies ethically sound principles to decision-making.
I feel I met these essentials by not only showing my commitment to learning through research and theory but showing my academic growth by integrating my education into future practice.
The Essentials I chose are my Mid Range Theory paper covering Jean Watson's theory of Caring and my case study from Women's Health clinical, in which I feel I evolved as a nurse, a student, and a future provider.

Translation and Integrating Scholarship into Practice
Additional assignments I decided to use for this essential include my Evaluation of a Theory paper and my Biomedical discussion board from Theory.
I feel I met this essential by using my ability to critique Nursing theories through the experience of practice.
I also feel by displaying my Biomedical DB from Theory, I have met this essential by discussing a Biomedical Theory. The Biomedical Theory I chose is Stress and Adaptation: General Adaptation Syndrome theory. This theory was not more important to me; however, it did stand out. This theory is appropriate for all graduate students at this point in our lives. And as I read further into the theory, everything made more sense from a medical viewpoint.
